Hello.
I'm Elizabeth Wood, the face behind E J Wood Art.
I have been painting full-time for five years, during which I have explored a variety of subjects and mediums.
Currently, I'm working with oil stick on board, building expressive, colour-confident paintings that explore light, mood, and the natural world.
My work is characterised by bold, unconventional colour choices and loose, energetic mark-making - a visual language that interprets rather than records what I see.
Working from my studio in Mount Maunganui, I have developed a distinctive practice across garden, botanical, and landscape subjects.
It is my belief that art is a wonderful tool to learn more about ourselves and help with understanding our place in the world.
My paintings have been exhibited in New Zealand and my work is held in private collections in New Zealand and Australia.
